Prof. Alon Raviv

  • Alon Raviv is Director of the International MBA program at Bar Ilan University’s Graduate School of Business Administration. He joined the BIU faculty in the fall of 2012. Prof. Raviv has numerous publications in conference proceedings, books, and academic top tier journals, including the Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Corporate Finance, Economics Letters, Journal of Futures Markets, Journal of Financial Stability, European Financial Management, and International Review of Financial Analysis. In the last decade he has been awarded three research grants from the Israel Science Foundation and one research grant from the United States Israel Binational Science Foundation.

    Prof. Raviv currently also serves as a consultant to the Bank of Israel and as a member of the committee responsible for selecting bank directors in Israel. He received both his PhD and his master’s degree in finance from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His fields of interest include derivatives, corporate finance, and the management of financial institutions. Prior to his current position, he was a faculty member at Brandeis International Business School from 2009 to 2012 and at Boston University from 2008 to 2009. Prof Raviv has extensive experience in the banking industry, including service as a senior Quant in the Analytical Development unit of Bank Hapoalim in Israel, as an economist at the Bank of Israel, and as a consultant for Percipio Capital. 

Prof. Meni Abudy

  • Professor Meni Abudy is an Associate Professor of Finance at the School of Business Administration at Bar-Ilan University. He serves as Head of the Ackerman Family Center for Corporate Governance and as Deputy Head of the School of Business Administration. Previously, he was a visiting professor at Erasmus University Rotterdam.

    Professor Abudy holds an LL.B. in Law (with honors) and a B.A. in Economics, an MBA (with honors), and a Ph.D.—all from Tel Aviv University. His research focuses on asset pricing with an emphasis on liquidity, behavioral finance, equity-based compensation, executive compensation, and the effects of financial regulation.

    His work has been published in leading journals in finance and accounting, including the Review of Finance, Journal of Banking & Finance, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Financial Stability, and the European Accounting Review. He is also the founder and editor-in-chief of Theory and Practice in Management, a biannual Hebrew-language academic journal dedicated to making research in business administration accessible to Israeli readers.

    In addition to his research activities, Professor Abudy has taught at numerous higher education institutions, including Tel Aviv University, the Open University of Israel, the Technion, Reichman University, the Academic College of Tel Aviv–Yaffo, and Bar-Ilan University. He has received multiple awards recognizing his excellence in teaching.

Prof. Gilad Chen

  • Prof. Gilad Chen is the Robert H. Smith Chair in Organizational Behavior at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, and a Full Professor in Bar Ilan University's School of Business Administration. He received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the Pennsylvania State University in 1996, and his doctoral degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from George Mason University in 2001. Prior to joining the Smith School, Dr. Chen was on the faculty at the Georgia Institute of Technology and Texas A&M University.

    Prof. Chen teaches courses on a variety of organizational behavior, human resource management, and methodological topics. His research focuses on work motivation, adaptation, teams and leadership, with particular interest in understanding the complex interface between individuals and the socio-technical organizational context. He has won several research awards, including the 2007 Distinguished Early Career Contributions Award from the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, the 2008 Cummings Scholar Award from the Organizational Behavior Division of the Academy of Management, and the 2014 Distinguished Scholar-Teacher Award from the University of Maryland. Dr. Chen is also an elected Fellow of the Academy of Management, American Psychological Association, Association for Psychological Science, International Association of Applied Psychology, Society of Industrial-Organizational Psychology, and Society of Organizational Behavior.

    Prof. Chen’s research has appeared in leading journals of management and applied psychology and has been among the top 2% most cited research in the field of Management.  He served as the Editor of the Journal of Applied Psychology (2014-2020), after serving as Associate Editor for the journal from 2008 through 2013. He has also been serving as an editorial board member of the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Organizational Research Method, and as the 2025-2026 Chair of the Organizational Behavior Division of the Academy of Management.

Prof. Onn Shehory

  • Prof. Onn Shehory is a faculty member in the Graduate School of Business Administration at Bar-Ilan University and serves as Director of the university’s Data Science and AI Institute (DSAI). He is internationally recognized for his work in artificial intelligence and has been listed multiple times in Stanford University’s ranking of the world’s top researchers in his field. Prof. Shehory has authored more than 120 publications in leading journals and conferences and holds over 20 patents. He has received several best-paper awards and regularly serves as an associate editor for international journals, as well as on the editorial boards and program committees of major AI venues. Prof. Shehory has taught AI, machine learning, and intelligent systems widely in Israel and in Europe.

    Prof. Shehory brings a unique blend of academic and industry experience, having spent 17 years in the high-tech sector leading research, development, and AI innovation efforts. As Director of the DSAI Institute, he oversees interdisciplinary collaborations in healthcare, business analytics, cybersecurity, and scientific computing, supporting dozens of research groups and national-level AI initiatives. His research integrates theoretical advances with real-world applications, producing solutions used in industry for prediction, optimization, and large-scale decision making. Prof. Shehory earned his PhD from Bar-Ilan University and performed his postdoctoral research at Carnegie Mellon University. He also consults regularly for companies and public organizations on AI, data-driven innovation, and responsible deployment of advanced AI systems.

Prof. Yevgeny Mugerman

  • Prof. Yevgeny Mugerman is an associate professor of finance at the Bar-Ilan Graduate School of Business Administration. He also serves as the faculty research lead, and is a visiting fellow at the Federmann Center for the Study of Rationality. Prof. Mugerman’s research focuses on the empirical determinants and real-world implications of behavioral factors in household, institutional, and corporate financial decisions. His work has been published in leading international journals, including Financial Times Top 50 outlets such as the Journal of Business Ethics. He has more than a decade of consulting experience in the behavioral economics and financial regulation domain, working with, among others, the Israel National Cyber Directorate, the Israel Securities Authority, the Accountant General at the Israeli Ministry of Finance, the Jerusalem Development Authority, the Division of Governance and Social Affairs in the Prime Minister’s Office, Enlight Renewable Energy, and the Agricultural Research Organization (Volcani Center). In addition, Prof. Mugerman serves as an associate editor of The Journal of FinTech.

Dr. Jeff Dodick

  • Dr. Dodick has a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in biology and earth science from the University of Toronto. Additionally, he has an MBA from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. His Ph.D. is from the Weizmann Institute of Science. From 2004 - 2012, he lectured and conducted research at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. From 2012 to the present, he has been working at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and (the think tank) the Jerusalem Institute of Policy Research. At BGU, he teaches courses in Business Strategy, Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility. His research focuses on the circular economy, and sustainability. In this capacity, he has conducted research with the (H2020-funded) projects R2π: The Route to Circular Economy (2015-2020), and Water Mining: Next generation water-smart management systems (2020-2024).

Dr. Ron Berger

  • Dr. Berger is an external lecturer in Israel and overseas (China/Hong Kong, UK, India and Norway). He has published over 60 academic papers in the field of marketing and management. He was previously an owner of an investment house and is currently managing a leading company in the area of pension education and management.

Weldon Turner 

  • Mr. Turner is currently the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of Gigawatt Global, an international renewable energy company.  He has extensive experience in capital markets and emerging markets. He has previously been the CEO of a boutique investment, Director of Credit Suisse and V.P. of Salomon Brother.

Ilan Gildin

  • Ilan Gildin is an experienced finance professional and educator, specializing in the increasingly vital field of fintech and digital assets. Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Finance in Bar Ilan University and holds an MBA with a specialization in Technology, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship from Tel Aviv University. As the Chief Economist and Strategic Advisor to the Chairman of the Israel Securities Authority (ISA), Mr. Gildin heads the economic department, providing crucial economic and empirical support across a range of subjects, including the regulatory framework for digital assets.

    In academia, Mr. Gildin imparts his insights and expertise as a Senior Lecturer in the Departments of Economics and Accounting at Bar-Ilan University and the College of Management Academic Studies. He has also contributed to academic literature, authoring papers on a range of topics, including the impact of social norms on computerized traders and macrostructure reform in financial markets. His work, acknowledged by the likes of the OECD, forms a key part of the ongoing discourse on fintech's regulatory and operational environment.

    Ilan Gildin has also shared his insights as a senior lecturer in the Blockchain and Digital Assets for Financial Services Programme led by the SMU Academy, Singapore Management University, and the Centre for Finance Technology and Entrepreneurship (CFTE). With a blend of practical experience, academic pursuits, and a keen focus on fintech and digital assets, Mr. Gildin provides perspective to the fintech course. His knowledge and dedication to innovation serve to equip participants with the tools, insights, and understanding required to navigate and thrive in the rapidly evolving world of fintech.

 Avichai Ben Tzur

  • Avichai Ben Tzur joined the BIU faculty in 2021 where he teaches digital marketing courses to future business leaders. Mr. Ben Tzur brings practical digital marketing expertise from the field, having spent 10 years at Google in various roles, and has founded a business focused on tourism in Polynesia. Mr. Ben Tzur is also the publisher of XDAYSINY.COM, a website focusing on in-depth travel guides. His travels are often documented in major Israeli publications, and from time to time, he leads groups on trips to the South Pacific.
